"The Most Versatile Classical Music Organization in the Bay Area!"

From all of us at Bay Area Classical Harmonies (BACH), we’d like to say thank you so much for the support you’ve given to us over the years. We appreciate everyone who makes BACH an amazing organization, and we hope that will continue for many years to come. Starting as a classical musical organization at UC Berkeley Music Department in 1998, BACH has since performed a variety of repertoire ranging from string quartets to fully staged operas, earning the reputation “the most versatile classical music organization in the Bay Area.” We have collaborated with seasoned professionals while also providing opportunities for aspiring young musicians. Our patrons have enjoyed everything from J.S. Bach to Aaron Copeland, from Beethoven to Byzantine Chant, from Armenian choral works to choral fugues by Glen Gould, and from 19th century concertos to New Orleans jazz.

But, like many performing arts and nonprofit organizations, we need financial support to deliver our mission of presenting the musical heritage of various cultures and Western classical music. For BACH, administration is done entirely by volunteers; all ticket sales revenue is used to compensate our musicians and to cover production costs. Devoted BACH musicians have accepted no or very modest compensation for sharing their great talent and efforts, and venue partners, providing superb performance spaces, have been similarly generous. Your support is critical if we are to continue to cultivate and maintain such relationships.

Very recently, we were awarded with grants from the Clorox Foundation and the County of Alameda (ARTSFUND Grant) which constitutes for one third of our fundraising goal! Your support will play a major role and your tax-deductible donation, as small as $10, will make a significant difference.

Bay Area Classical Harmonies is a great collaboration for all of us – staff, board, and those of you who participate in BACH as audience, musicians, or volunteers. We are grateful for everything we have accomplished together. We look forward to hearing how you will be part of our future!
